Our newest mug is a playful take on the aloha spirit. We wanted a softer mug that was a little more relaxed. The initial concepts were reminiscent of postcard fonts with sunsets on beaches, and it slowly grew into what we feel is just a gentle piece that hopefully brings happiness in it's simplicity. The first few sketches were over the top wit palm trees, sunsets, and clouds, but I felt that the whimsical spirit was getting lost in all the extras. In a way, I just wanted a mug that would put a smile on faces but didn't have to be extravagant. The gentleness of the design is meant to just be a warm, heartfelt "Aloha".
Hand glazed letters, and a warm sunset fade, tied together with beautiful red tapa print wrapped sides. Gloss orange interior. We will not be hand glossing the letters in future releases, so this is not only the first one out of the kiln, it will be the only one like it.
Nicely sized at 22oz, 6x5x2.5" it fits in your hand comfortably.
